| MacUmba at Oldham Festival |

MacUmba have recently returned from the Oldham Percussion festival. This is the third time MacUmba have appeared at this festival and the festival keeps getting better every year. There were fantastic performances by a range of local and international percussionists. There was also a host of percussion workshops and an array of marvellous percussion for sale. I believe one of the band members went on a shopping spree and spent most of his money on new gear.The MacUmba gig went down well with the crowd, who appreciated our unique mix of Samba rhythms with bagpipes. It was also a chance for the band to play some of the new tunes, which will be available in the next album. We hope to return to Oldham next year and perhaps conduct performance workshops. If you've not been to this festival we highly recommend it. Many thank go to all the organisers and John Clifford for putting on another truly amazing festival. CheersMacUmba |
